They're baaaack! No kidding! get it?
On my way to the studio this morning what do you think I spied? Yes, you guessed right the goats! I rushed to my studio to get all my stuff together for this weeks Filoli Workshop which starts tomorrow. And then it was on for the rest of the day.
But before heading out for my errands I had to go back though and take some pictures of the goats, they were everywhere! When I first spied them they were all on this one hill, so it would have been a great picture, but by the time I got back they were kinda spread out, they had already eaten the grass where I first saw them. What a sight!
Then it was onto the next destination -
Chris Beck's Open Studio location!
What a delight for the senses. I got lost and drove around in circles, but I was so close (and so many times too!)
It was great to see her work in person, she has such a great range as an artist and she is full of joy and laughter which comes through in all of her work. I was so lucky to get a tour of her working studio and it's just like what you'd think, big tables, a huge assortment of clean and organized tools, brushes, toys abound, color charts are exactly where they should be and it was so much fun to be in her space and see where her magic happens. Got to see some of her quilts too! Nice to converse with Senior Teremoto too!
I was able to get some shopping done too...woo hoo
Then it was off to a surprise birthday party for my Great Aunt Catherine who turned 80 this year. Won't show pics here, but did get some flip video but won't show that here. Let's just say there were mariachis in their uniforms/costumes and lots of loud singing and dancing and whooping it up and meeting up with relatives that I haven't seen in quite awhile. My Grandma was there and she got up on her 97 year old little grandma legs and danced a bit! I got to see my Auntie Gloria Torres who I haven't seen in ages, and I almost cried like a baby. Thanks Kathleen for putting this together!
What a great day!
