Last look before varnishing

This is where I left off from all of the softening, scrubbing and building the darks in the center. I thought the lower highlights in the shadows needed to be "toned" as my eye would immediately be drawn there. The lower picture is how I toned the highlights. Now I can finally start to varnish this piece and get onto the next image!

Yesterday I started Friday WIP.
My violet glaze is too heavy,glazes are difficult for my!I think it's better now started another WIP.I like try to learn what I can not easily.A tip to keep the first glaze right?Which brush (round or square )on a quarter sheet?

Hello Rita,

I use a spray varnish first to "set in" the paint and then use a liquid varnish and apply it with a fine sponge.

I wish my purple glaze was darker towards the bottom of the image!

It's all part of the process - can't wait to see what you come up with...
